BERTHS
2,800 linear meters of berths and 15 piers giving us great flexibility to receive any type of vessels for 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. These berths are distributed on both banks (west and east) of the Haina River and all of them have maximum depth of 10 meters. However, berth No. 6, mainly used for container load and unload, has 12 meters depth to allow the mooring and operations of Panamax vessels with 245 meters length, 40 meters length, and capacity of 4,500 TEUs.
CONTAINER TERMINAL
At HIT Rio Haina Port we have a container terminal with design capacity of 600,000 TEUs. Currently, it’s operating at 60% capacity. The distribution of the terminal operations seeks for efficiency to load and unload vessels, as well as receiving and dispatching containers in a quick, efficient, and safe way.
LAYDOWN YARD FOR GENERAL CARGOES
At HIT Rio Haina Port we dispose more than 70,000 square meters to discharge, storage, and dispatch general cargoes, either imported or exported by this port terminal. Goods handled in this area include wood, wire rod, rebar, billets, heavy equipment, special projects, among other.
GANTRY CRANES
3 gantry cranes, 2 conventional truck cranes, and a container crane with load capacity up to 40 tonnes, able to scope up to 13 lines of containers and with productivity of 22 movements per hour (MPH) each crane. These cranes are mainly used to discharge and load container vessels.
MOBILE CRANES
At HIT Rio Haina Port we dispose more than 70,000 square meters to discharge, storage, and dispatch general cargoes, either imported or exported by this port terminal. Goods handled in this area include wood, wire rod, rebar, billets, heavy equipment, special projects, among other.
STORAGE AREA
At HIT Rio Haina Port we have 9,700 square meters of covered storage areas installed on the terminal to keep bulk goods discharged from general cargo vessels that cannot be outdoor, such as newsprint paper rolls, steel coils, among other.
ELECTRICAL OUTLETS
The electrical outlets at HIT Rio Haina Port allow us to receive reefer containers regardless their goods or required temperature. There, these containers are plugged in as soon as they arrive to the port or are discharged from the vessel; then they are monitored for 24 hours, 7 days a week in order to guarantee the proper functioning of these devices, and thus the quality of the products inside.
Our installed capacity involves 252 fixed electrical outlets, but it may be expanded with no limit by using special equipment known as Powerpacks.
PARKING LOTS
At HIT Rio Haina Port we have four (4) parking lots with capacity to keep up to 2,000 imported cars, We receive these cars, then inspect and keep them by following a rigorous security protocol that guarantees the imported cars are delivered to the final customer in the same conditions as received.
